For almost 1100 years, viticulture has been vouched for in the vineyards of Nordheim on the shell limestone and Keuper soils of the wine island. In 918, King Konrad confirmed in a document the donation of two vineyards in Nordheim am Main to the Münsterschwarzach monastery. The former tithe farm of the Münsterschwarzach monastery still bears witness to this powerful landlordship. The well-preserved gabled building with bay window and two wings, dating back to around 1600, is located within sight of the modern DIVINO.
The new vinotheque, where the cooperative vintners market their wine brands DIVINO, JUVENTA and FRANCONIA, presents itself as a world of wine experience on an area of 1,000 square meters (10.700 square feet). It goes without saying that there is hardly ever a wine-related wish left unfulfilled. Nordheim's most famous vineyards are the Vögelein and the Kreuzberg, and it is there that Silvaner and Müller-Thurgau grapes are chosen to be grown. They are grown, harvested and vinified cooperatively with the utmost care. In addition to the classic requirements of a vinotheque, the transparent and elegantly designed DIVINO building also fulfills many tasks that a cooperative is more likely to take on than, say, a private vintner. An extensive wine library and appealing exhibition rooms are part of this offering, and in summer the picturesque inner courtyard enjoys great popularity with the public. The two-story new building itself is impressive due to its clear structure and the successful synthesis of steel, glass and natural stone. In the interiors, fine-quality woods are added to the mix. "Living in the sound of wine" - the cooperative vintners of Nordheim succeed in achieving the motto and it is the vintners' successes of Nordheim that delight the wine connoisseur.
