Weingut Ruppert

Weingut Ruppert (Hammelburg, Rhön)

The Ruppert family winery is located in Hammelburg, the oldest wine town in Franconia. The new building, which blends into the village with its simple architecture, according to the character of the location, is located on the edge of the old town of Hammelburg. It is run by the brothers Stefan and Matthias, who are both trained viticultural technicians. They have gradually expanded the vineyard from 4.9 hectares / 12 acres to over 13 hectares / 32 acres. Thanks to yield reduction in viticulture and modern techniques in vinification, they produce straightforward, mineral white wines and harmonious, structurally strong red wines. The white wine varieties Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, Bacchus, Ortega, Optima, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Domina, Merlot and Portugieser are currently cultivated. The vineyards of the winery are located in Hammelburger Trautlestal and Hammelburger Heroldsberg. The large vineyard is called Hammelburger Burg. The wines from the estate can be experienced with all the senses during a wine tasting.
