terroir f Oberschwarzach

Path of knowledge

Anyone who climbs up to terroir f in the Handthaler Stollburg vineyard near Oberschwarzach, at almost 400 meters (1312 feet) one of the highest vineyards in Franconia, is treading the "path of knowledge". The railing that leads the path up to Stollburg castle tells the story of wine, which is over 8,000 years old. Those who take a break during the climbing not only catch their breath, but also immerse themselves in historical wine worlds.

Wine educates - and once visitors have reached the top, this is doubly true. The famous minstrel Walther von der Vogelweide is said to have been born at Stollburg castle. The unique view that one enjoys from here into the Franconian Keuperstufe landscape is always inspiring.
