Wine Personalities - Professions, Characters & Legends - Wine is Alive

The "Franconian Wine Halla" in Nordheimer Kreuzberg

High up, below the lookout point in the Nordheimer Kreuzberg, the most unusual magic place of Franconian wine awaits the guests.  A spectacular mural, unique in the wine world, tells of the work in the vineyard and cellar, wine culture and wine enjoyment - and always with a "wink", with typical Franconian humor.

The tale ranges from cool young winemakers whose Silvaner rocks, careless helpers during the grape harvest who sometimes fall into a vat, the grape guard - i. e. protection against grape thieves of all kinds - to the most important day of the Franconian wine industry, the election of the Franconian Wine Queen. But it does not end there. Wine wants to be enjoyed, whether in the cellar or at the festive table with typical Franconian dishes, the "Schäuferla" (pig's shoulder meat dish) and the bratwursts. But that's not all. In the center of the painting, in reference to the storming of the Bastille, it is not the French national figure Marianne who is featured but "Frankonia" strides. She finally leads the "Bavarians" not with weapons, but in the wine-blissful intoxication with grapes and Bocksbeutel and of course accidentally steps on the tail of the Bavarian lion and thus embodies the Franconian self-confidence and the Franconian view of Bavaria.

There is much more to discover. An information brochure or the Terroir-F APP will help - simply scan the QR code....

After so much information and many selfies taken in front of the mural, it is worthwhile to let your eyes wander over the Main Island - of course with a good glass of Franconian wine from Nordheim am Main.
