terroir f Großlangheim

The view through the Bocksbeutel

terroir f (Großlangheim, Fränkisches Weinland)

With a glass of Franconian wine, you can simply relax - and sometimes even float. This is always the case at terroir f in Großlangheim. Above the Kiliansberg vineyard, a new viewing platform rises at the Hardthütte in the form of a reclining Bocksbeutel (traditional Franconian wine bottle) which seems to float above the rows of vines. Fittingly, the theme of this terroir f is the bottle shape that is inseparably linked with Franconia's quality and predicate wines.

Looking through the Bocksbeutel, visitors learn, for example, that since 1989, only wines from Franconia and a few other narrowly defined wine-growing regions may be qualified to be the Bocksbeutel. The Franconian bottle is, of course, much older; the Celtic "Urbocksbeutel" found near Aschaffenburg even dates back to around 1400 B.C. But terroir f also shows how Franconian wine, and with it the Bocksbeutel, moves with the times. In 2015, the classic form was revised: as "Bocksbeutel PS", it now gives the fine Franconian wines a more elegant and at the same time fresh home, without denying its tradition.
